Love Shack Baabeeeeee

Yeah, that has nothing to do with this entry. It's what's playing right now.

TIIIIIIIIIIN ROOF! Rusted!

Anyway, I may be working at the Central Wally World in addition to Movie Gallery. 5.40 an hour isn't cutting it, even though I like the job and the people I work with very much. I have an interview with the personnel manager on Monday. Hopefully it'll go well.

Other than that, not a whole lot to blog about. Well, I take that back. There's plenty to blog about. Britney Spears reproduced! God, please help that child. It's going to be one of the most messed-up kids EVER. At least little Preston Federtrash will be loaded enough to afford therapy down the line. A lot of these celebrity kids will be due to the fact that their mothers mainly wanted them as an accessory, which makes me want to vomit. Money buys a lot of things, but apparently it can't buy discretion.

Karen hasn't emailed me back. Maybe she's not back from her honeymoon. Long-ass honeymoon. They got married on August 27th. Anyway, I'd be OK if I never spoke to her again. Still, that closure would be nice.

I'm ready to graduate and see where the Air Force is gonna send us. Overseas is mandatory at least once during Alicia's run, and she said a lot of times they do that first. Overseas is fine as long as it's not Iraq or Afghanistan. Even so, she's gonna be doing comm, so she should be relatively safe.

It's been said many times before, but U2's "The Joshua Tree" is one of the best albums ever made.

Seems like my blog entries have deteriorated into random thoughts. I'll end this one here before too many come flowing like the New Orleans levee waters. Ohhhhh...too soon?

Return to the Face of the Earth

Wow...Social Services should take my blog away due to my neglect. Where to start...

Ah yes. "How is married life treating you?" Great, and no, you are not the first person to ask me that in those exact words. It doesn't seem a whole lot different than the way we were before, just different terminology and 3 "children" (see 2 cats and a dog). And no, Mom, there won't be any grandkids soon. You have a few more years.

Movie Gallery is going well. I actually like this job, although it is a double-edged sword in that I don't get paid handsomely for my work. It saves me a ton of money since I get to rent everything for free. Otherwise, I'd be trying to save up for games and DVDs. Not real feasible when you have rent to pay.

School's ok. I only have 3 classes on Tuesday/Thursday, so that's nice. Only taking 9 hours keeps me from getting a student ticket to football games, though. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. I just better be able to find a ticket to the Miami game AND be off this Saturday. Tigers 2-0 baby! I can smell national championship right around the corner!

Mortal Kombat: Deception can be incredibly and frustratingly hard.

So is Devil May Cry 3.

I've recently felt the need to see friends that I haven't in a LONG time. There are some that I haven't seen in a while. I haven't seen Eddie since the wedding, but I'm talking a LOOOONG time. People like Kevin, Josh (Adams), Jonathan, Karen, Dana/Michelle, Kenan, Alicia P., and others. I hardly get on AIM as do some of them, so I rarely talk to these people. I did get to talk to Kevin tonight and hopefully we can chill sometime. I don't know what it is, but it's almost like I feel a rift being created. I at least want to be able to have a proper good-bye if I never get to see some of them again. Especially Karen.

I heard that Karen got married. I've long gotten over what happened between her and me, but it seems like something is still not taken care of. Even after getting over the feelings I had (I called it love then, but now I'm not so sure), I still tried to be her friend. However, when I tried to talk to her, it seemed like I was always catching her at a bad time. Like she didn't want to have anything to do with me at all. So I stopped trying, and that was it. I don't want her to think that I just gave up. All I want is to tell her that I think about her every now and then and that I sincerely hope that she is doing what makes her happy. Maybe I'll try emailing her. We'll see how that goes.

Well, this has gone on quite long enough, it seems. I'm gonna end it here and start looking for some closure. lol Y'all take it easy.

Clicky the Linky

Yeah, I put that banner there. Seems like a cool little deal. You earn points for doing quests and things and Square Enix will give you cool stuff for your points like shirts, controllers, and even a 20 GB iPod with Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest mp3s on it. I just need to make it to Charlotte so I can play the demo...

Jobbed

After all the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled, I have a job. Please give a warm welcome to the newest employee of Movie Gallery in Central! For a time, I had another job as a server at the PrimeTime Grill in Seneca, but with both of us having two jobs, scheduling was heck and transportation was an issue. MG is just a bike ride away.

Now, I don't like to toot my own horn, but...who am I kidding? Rose, the store manager who hired me, said my scores on the pre-hire test were the highest she had seen in a while. TOOT! A lot of it was things I learned in service marketing. Today was my first day as a customer service associate (CSA), but pretty soon I'm going to become a manager-on-duty. I definitely like MG a WHOLE lot more than serving. When I served at Liberty, I got so sick of the public I almost killed a guy because he looked at me wrong. Seriously. Gun to his head. I'm still working with the public, but at least now I won't get bitched at if people don't like what they get.

So, if you're in the area, stop by. I'll be the snazzy-looking guy in the red polo and khaki shorts rolling my elitist eyes at those who rent Man of the House.

WOOOOO!

According to NHL.com, we will indeed have a new season come October! The new CBA was ratified by both the League and the players' union, implementing some interesting changes to the game. I won't say too much since you should get that lazy wrist working, click on the link, and read it yourself, but I will say that the NHL desperately needed these changes. The game is gonna be a whole lot more exciting and I hope it draws new fans. I must say, the new logo is quite spiffy, too.

Ignorance is Bliss

This goes out to all the people who think they were the first to spray "WAR" on a stop sign.

War is a necessary evil. Of course, war is truly hell in that people have to die to resolve one. I know I'm probably not the first to say this, but without war, we wouldn't have a country where every schmuck can bitch and moan and have their own pinheaded opinions without fear of persecution. We would all be keeping a strict tea time, driving on the left side of the road, and everything would remind us of the hunt. I hardly think that the Founding Fathers could have persuaded King George to give us independence.

I take that back. War isn't a necessary evil, it's almost mandatory. As long as people around the world have differing opinions and feelings, there will always be "wars and rumors of wars," like Jesus said. There are some things that cannot be resolved by diplomacy. I can only imagine what it would have been like if Al Gore had actually won back in 2000. I can see myself slapping my forehead in disbelief as news of Gore's stern letter of disapproval to Osama bin Laden circulates.

In closing, be thankful you live in a place where your liberties are protected. Also realize the unfortunate cost of those liberties, and don't belittle the sacrifice made by so many people. Just like everything else, war has its place in the world.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Yeah, I decided to go with a new template. The old one was OK, but had run its course. Anyway, I've been job-hunting for a while, and it seems my efforts are finally paying off. The media manager at Best Buy called me today and I have an interview tomorrow! Sweet employee discount, here I come! I may take on another job, but that all depends on whether I work full or part-time at BB. I also have an interview with the Athletic Department store tomorrow. Alicia already works there, so if I get in there, that would be convenient since we have only one car. Other than that, everything's pretty normal. Well, it's late, so get some sleep. Night!
