WOOOOO!
According to NHL.com, we will indeed have a new season come October! The new CBA was ratified by both the League and the players' union, implementing some interesting changes to the game. I won't say too much since you should get that lazy wrist working, click on the link, and read it yourself, but I will say that the NHL desperately needed these changes. The game is gonna be a whole lot more exciting and I hope it draws new fans. I must say, the new logo is quite spiffy, too.

Now to see who ends up showing the games since ESPN dumped 'em.
Apparently Spike TV is looking into getting into sports (other than slamball) and might show the games.
Or the other option is Comcast is thinking about creating a dedicated channel (kind of how OLN shows the Tour de France).
It would be nice for them to get their own network channel IMHO.
That'd be nice, but it may be a while before the NHL gets their own network with all the losses they incurred. The NFL did it only recently, and they've been arguably the most popular pro sport in America for the past few years. The NHL would probably need to gain some viewers elsewhere before their own channel is justified.
